“Sonata
for Two Instruments” (work in progress) is an installation of video, photographs
and sculpture centered around a large 2-channel video projection in which
two women passionately read the script of Ingmar Bergman’s legendary film
“Persona” while in bed.
How can we show what happens when we're impacted by watching a film--the
awakening, the loss of self, the pathos, identification and confusion
about what exists in and outside of the film and film viewing experience?
The charge of connection between author and film; film, apparatus and
spectator, across generations, cultures, time and space is considered
in the gestures of this project.
